Kevin Cole

The Dalles, Oregon

Kevin Cole is a highly decorated United Stats Air Force disabled veteran who served during the Cold War in the 1980s and in Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He began flying two-line kites in 1986 and has been at it ever since–almost 40 years! In 2018, after meeting Rod and Phil, he started flying inflatable kites and has continued to expand his collection every year.

This year’s newest addition is a custom ultra-light red, white, and blue Peter Lynn 7KG kite, which he named Liberty. Kevin has also begun sewing his own kites and creations to add to his collection.

He has flown his kites along the coasts of Oregon and Washington, and he travels east to Garrison and Jamestown, North Dakota, for their kite festivals–he’s even flown over Medora!

An accomplished dual-line and quad-line kite flyer, Kevin can often be spotted on the field flying his signature red, white, and blue kites.
